
Samantha wailed between womb and will with some sweet song of discord,in a landscape peppered with synchronicity, and music propelled herthrough conservatorium into new uncharted realms of collaboration.Currently living and working in London, Samantha is currently developingmaterial for a new album and is working towards performance in loungeand pub as well as showcases for later in 2003. Samantha's style has evolved into what can be loosely described asorganic groove with it's roots in the pop-folk genre, which can be mixedwith club overtones if desired but stands alone with mature lyrics andcatchy melodies. Samantha composes using piano and is alsocollaborating with other songwriters. She is always interested in strongsubmissions and co-writes with others and is also happy to considerpublishing her work for use by other artists. Throughout Australia over a decade, Samantha performed a mixture ofambient song, connecting classical training with inspirations fromtechnotrance, mood and the elements, meshed through instrumentalsequencing and organic instrumentation. This work was presented asperformance art in various clubs and late venues, involving dramaticcostumes and unconventional locations, and providing an individualsearchlight to the potent of the earth and spirit. Mainstream performances have included residencies at hotspots, corporateand private events as well as festivals around Australia, singing amixture of jazz, groove and ambient arrangements with professionalensembles. In full concert, Samantha transforms spaces into sensorial situations inconjunction with the visual artist collective <<tesseract>>www.projectroom.com, where slide and video projections are layered overa space to paint textural metaphors and enhance musical themes,ultimately creating a symbiosis between instrument, element, audienceand technology. |
