For locals, tourists and artists, Sculpture in the Vineyards offers a chance to explore beyond the scenic Great North Road and delve into hidden corners of this picturesque valley. The Wollombi region is rich in history, ranging from aboriginal rock engravings to the convict-build Great North Road and historic buildings of the Wollombi village.

Today Wollombi is renowned for its wine production, so the artwork in Sculpture in the Vineyards links the past to the present, whilst looking towards the future.

Situated in the wide open spaces of these beautifully landscaped vineyard gardens combined with unique architectural qualities of each cellar door, this innovative integration of sculpture and installations enhances and deepens one’s understanding of place. As such, incorporating artworks in these areas contributes to the community’s confidence and sense of belonging to a unique and special valley.  Sculpture in the Vineyards brings cultural enhancement to the region and also has the potential to create a positive environmental and economic impact.
