. .

Do I look forward to winter? The cold, discomfort, thick clothing, chill draughts?

Perhaps I do - the contrast, the nights I CAN'T go out - I MUST stay indoors where I inevitably turn my hand and eye to creative pursuits. This satin applique quilt has been a simple craft and comfort, during the making and then the using.

Perhaps its antisocial, but the deep dark warmth of winter is when I find the most inspiration, secluded away from the distraction of social events.

Creative solitude brings me comfort. Winter is a part of the cycle. It brings its own pleasures, more subtle than summer. If I were to loathe winter, might that not make winter less beautiful than it is?
